BOLTON, JUNE MARIE ELLIS – age 85, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Bolton, her parents, John H. and Gertrude Ellis, and her brother, John H. Ellis, Jr. June was born in Roanoke, VA on November 20, 1927. She spent her early childhood years in Roanoke and Chattanooga, TN before moving to Knoxville in the 4th grade. She was a 1945 graduate of Historic Knoxville High School, where she would later work in the offices of Knox County’s Adult Education and Literacy Programs. After attending the University of Tennessee, she married and began faithfully raising her own five children, serving as a Sunday School teacher for 1st graders, and caring for family and friends through her gifts of hospitality and cooking. Known for her delight in small children and her ease in conversation with even total strangers, June was loved by all who encountered her. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her signature gift of joy, demonstrated through her beautiful smile and contagious laughter, will never be forgotten. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law Scott and Sandy Bolton, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Karen Bolton, son Sam Bolton, daughter and son-in-law Janice and Chuck Ramsey, daughter and son-in-law Leigh Anne and Steve Ellis; grandchildren – Mike and Leigh Ann Bolton, Wes and Cara Bolton, Andy and Kathy Bolton, Brian and Emily Bolton, Lauren and Chris Brakebill, Leslie and Jimmy Campbell, Chase Ramsey, Jessica Ellis, and Cameron Ellis; great-grandchildren – Katie, Abbey, Ryan, Drew, Grace, and Jonathan Bolton, and Brantley Campbell. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Central Baptist Church of Fountain City, followed by a celebration of life service at 7 p.m. with Reverend Ron Mouser officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m., Friday, at the entrance to Highland Memorial Park for a graveside service.
