Jon was a good friend of both my son's, Brandon and Steven and was in my home many times with them. He was a very sweet ,polite and funny boy. It was a pleasure to know him. He was a special person and we will truly miss him. My prayers are with you and I pray also that Jon is at peace now. He gave so much to others and deserves to rest in God's arms now. Kevin and I are deeply sorry for the loss of your brother.  It sounds like he was loved very much.  I lost my mother 7 years ago.  I still miss her every day, but the pain is not as sharp now and the memories are even sweeter.  I pray that God will help ease your pain. Chuck, Kathy Jennifer, Was so sorry to hear about this tragic thing happening to your family. God is in control. I haven't seen you Chuck since I  left ORNL in .2000. I think Of you on Ground Hogs Day every year because I know it is your birthday. I was coming tonight but the weather is so bad and supposed to get worse. I do not drive after it is dark, can't see. My thoughts and prayers have been with you all since I heard this terrible news, I saw  his picture on his obituary, He looks just like you Chuck. I met Jonathan when he was 2yrs old. He was a precious little boy and he had the most loving parents and sister. No Parent should ever have to bury their child, but I hope he found the Peace he was looking for. Cathy, Chuck and Jennifer, my heart goes out to you. I know that loss and I wished I could take it from you.

My heart truly broke when I heard this. I always felt welcomed and loved by your family and you all meant so much to me as a young kid. My memories of Jonathan will always be of this quick witted, hilariously funny, and intelligent young man. His giving heart shown through at even a young age. Dear Cathy and Chuck,

Although you don't know me I wanted to express my sympathy for your loss. John and I were friends in high school. News of his death came as a great shock to me. John and I shared a mathematics teacher at West High School and the first time I met him we both complained bitterly about how ridiculously cold she kept her classroom. I was an extremely socially awkward kid and got picked on by many of my friends, most of whom were in John's grade. John was always respectful though. After high school I would occasionally run into John at parties and we would share pleasant conversations and I would always come away with at least one excellent film recommendation. I recall one party we were both at where some idiot was throwing fire works into small groups of people. John and I were talking, I was standing he seated, and a bottle rocket landed in John's shirt pocket. John glanced down at it as the flaming propellant spewed out of his pocket and calmly proceeded to grab the far non-burning end of it and toss it, it exploded. He then remarked, "Okay, we should take a break with the fire works", which I will remember and cherish till the day I die.  I will always remember John as an intelligent, thoughtful, witty, sympathetic, and kind person. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I was so sorry to hear about your great loss. But just wanted you to know how much your words meant to me. I have a son that went to West that has battle with depression for years it’s a hard journey on the family and on them. But your words said so much. Love more. Care more pray more. Talk more. My relationship with Jonathan was always work based but I can't thank him enough for the early influence he had on my personal recovery. Jonathan was a man who was willing to teach anything he knew to anyone who would listen. Jonathan was one of the smartest people I have ever met and I used to tell him all the time that he missed his calling as a college professor. He continued to be considerate, gentle and kind to everyone he knew and he will be missed. Wherever you and whatever your doing old friend, I love you and there's nothing you can do about it. Your memory will not fade away because your friends and family will keep it alive for many years to come.

I met Jonathan through Amber and Althea. He was such a kind, intelligent, and compassionate person with a great sense of humor. Jon was all-around awesome. My late husband, Ryan, and I hung out with Jon and Amber at my former home in Tennessee several times. I remember those times with fondness. I also had the pleasure of meeting his mother, Mimi, who is an awesome person.  Amber, Althea, and Mimi, I am so very sorry for your loss. If any of you need me for anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. 

My brother. Jonathan saved my life on multiple occasions. He was my best friend and my confidant. No one I know will ever match his wit or his humor or his embrace. He was so intelligent and so graceful. I would give anything for one more conversation with you. Rest in power my friend. 

Cathy, I am so terribly sorry for the loss of your sweet son. I remember Jonathan from Trinity and he was always so happy. Please know you and your family are in my prayers.

I am very grateful to Jonathan Watson for his kindness to me when I was at a low point in my life. His compassion was genuine, though he barely knew me. I am also grateful to Mimi for welcoming me into her home that day we went swimming together. I am heartbroken for you, Mimi. You raised a good man and I will miss him. Amber and Althea, I love you both dearly and I will be there for you in any way I can. That's for life.
