Johnnie Faye Whitaker

Johnnie “Faye” Whitaker, age 89 of Knoxville, passed away at her home, May 24, 2021. She was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw. Johnnie was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. She graduated from Karns High School and attended Knoxville Business College. She entered the workforce and retired from Brownlee Construction after 40 plus years of service. Preceded in death by husband, Dennis Whitaker; parents, Robert and Cordie Cardwell; siblings, Roy, Edna, Louise, and Lucy Lee; sister-in-law, Mary Catherine and Doris; brothers-in-law, T.J., James, Alvin, and Otis. Survived by son, Michael Whitaker; daughter, Susie (Terry) Smith; grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Smith and April (Jay) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Bella, Gracie, Memphis and Monroe whom she loved with all her heart; sisters-in-law, Imogene, Brenda and many special family and friends. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their loving care. Family will receive friends at Weaver’s Chapel Wednesday, from 5:00-7:00 pm with service to follow. Richie Turner and Danny Neal officiating.
