Jo Ann Miller was a high-energy, no-nonsense, selfless wife, mother, “JoJo” and friend. Jesus called her to her eternal heavenly home on Sept. 29, 2021—far sooner than her loved ones anticipated. She was born to Woodrow and Rosa Wampler on July 30, 1957. After meeting her college sweetheart, Tim Miller, they married and had two children: Amber and Justin.
Jo Ann’s passion was teaching. She was known to dance around her classroom to energize her students about whatever topic they were studying. The Count of Monte Cristo was a favorite. She taught school for 30+ years before retiring to keep her grandchildren and tutor.
She loved when other people enjoyed her cooking, whether it was Sunday dinner for her family or when she hosted her church small group for weekly Bible study and fellowship.
A homebody at heart, Jo Ann always had a house project in the works (much to her husband’s chagrin!), and wanted nothing more than to spend time with her family appreciating the simple pleasures of life.
A celebration of Jo Ann’s life is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Oct. 5 in the chapel of Faith Promise Church (10740 Faith Promise Lane Knoxville, TN 37931). Visitation with the family will be held before the service from 5 – 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ministry of Faith Promise Church. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BerryHighlandWest.com for the Miller family.
