Janet Kay Buehler

Janet Kay Buehler, age 81, of Farragut, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 12, 2024, surrounded by John, her loving husband of 62 years and her youngest daughter, Michele Pirro. Janet was born on October 2, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Russell E. and Georgia M. Winters.

Preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, her son-in-law Andrew Bloom, and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, Janet leaves behind her devoted husband, John E. Buehler; her daughters, Sandy Bloom of Coral Springs, FL, Susan Langis (Joe) of Davie, FL, and Michele Pirro (Steve) of Farragut, TN; seven beloved grandchildren, Amanda Naus (Jeff), Justin Phillips, David Pirro, Matthew Pirro (Cara), Nathan Pirro (Gabby), April Bloom (Marty), and Kyle Bloom; and her two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Naus and Carter Edinger. She is also survived by her brothers, Ron Winters (Marsha) and Tom Winters (Sherry); sisters, Linda Duckett and Lois Ryan, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Janet took immense pride in being a devoted wife and stay-at-home mother to her three daughters, whom she considered her greatest accomplishments. In addition to her family, Janet had a passion for flowers and owned a successful flower shop in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, for ten years, a venture in which her entire family took part.

At the age of 43, Janet and her husband John retired and moved to Okeechobee, Florida, where they built a home and enjoyed 20 years of life by the water. Janet loved fishing and spending time outdoors. She and John also spent years traveling the country in their motorhome, golfing along the way.

Janet will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many. Her loss is deeply felt, and she will be missed beyond measure.

A receiving of family and friends for Janet will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Forest Cemetery, 401 Concord Road, Farragut, TN 37934.
