Janet Giffin Brannon, age 62 of Knoxville, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 2, 2016. She was full of life and was a dynamic person. She loved her children, grandchildren and animals. She had a heart of gold. Her love of water began at Giffin Swimming pool, owned by her grandparents. She traveled the world, but her favorite place was the Cayman Islands. She spent her time helping underprivileged people and people in recovery. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Giffin; and grandparents, Frank and Dora Richards, and Buck and Lucy Giffin. She is survived by her sons, Jason and daughter-in-law Nichole Whaley, and Brent and daughter-in-law Jessica Baker; grandchildren, Chesney, Lakin, and Douglas; great-grandchild, Kayson; mother and step-father, Doris and Jim Rose; sisters, Bob Ellen, Linda, Ginger, and Tammy; step-brother, Randy Sims; sister-friend, Cree Ham; and many other friends and family. There will be a celebration of Janet’s life on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 6:30 until 8:30pm at the Southern Railway Station, 306 West Depot Avenue, Knoxville, TN, 37917.
