He was the Owner of Jack Latham Marble & Stone, Vice President of Mausoleum Constructors of America and Vice President of Warner Robins Leasing. He oversaw construction of over 800 mausoleums in 25 states. Jack and Linda traveled to all 50 states and many countries abroad. He served his country in the Air National Guard. Jack was a Charter member and Trustee at Seymour United Methodist Church.
He was a friend to all he met, with a smile that made everyone happy. He loved his church, his work, his garden, and especially his family.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda McCarter Latham; son, Dennis Latham and wife Cherie of Easley, SC; daughter, Karen Ogle and husband Teddy of Seymour, TN; grandchildren, Ali Latham, Gracelyn Latham, LaShay Ogle, Shane Ogle and Ella Ogle; siblings, Aliene Kerr, Ralph Latham and wife Ruth, Roy Latham and wife Gail; sisters-in-law, Kathy Latham and Wanda McCarter, brother-in-law, Jerry McCarter and wife Lisa; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Hazel Latham; siblings, Imogene Ford and husband Lawrence, Jerry Latham, Johnnie Mae Latham and Maxine Latham; brothers-in-law M.C. Kerr and James McCarter.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Tuesday March 21, 2023 with a funeral service to follow at 7pm in the Magnolia Chapel at Berry Highland South funeral home, 9010 E. Simpson Rd., Knoxville, TN 37920. Graveside service will be held Wednesday March 22, 2023 at 11am at Berry Highland South cemetery in the Garden of the Gospels. Services will be officiated by Rev. Darren Kitts. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made in Jack’s memory to Seymour United Methodist Church.
