Helen R. Ball

Helen Rogers Ball, 84, passed away Monday, July 3 in Knoxville. A lifelong resident of the Knoxville area, she was employed for more than 40 years in the accounts payable department at ORNL, K25 in Oak Ridge. A lover of travel, adventure, and laughter, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Noffard and Grace Rogers, her husband of more than 30 years, Martin Ball, one brother, Carl Rogers and wife Louise, one sister, Ruth Branam and husband Chris, all of Knoxville. One brother in law, Bob Ailor of Huntsville, AL, and other loved ones. She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Sutherland and husband, Ryland, of Virginia Beach, VA, one grandson, Tristan Sutherland of Virginia Beach, one sister, Wanda Ailor of Huntsville, Alabama, one brother, Jerry Rogers and wife, Judy, of Knoxville, several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Tom Hill, of Knoxville. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Weaver Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Braddom officiating.
