Gerry L. Walker

Gerry Lynn Walker, age 69 of Corryton passed away on June 28, 2017 at her home with her husband John by her side. She retired from Shoney’s as a training supervisor. Mrs. Walker was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and proudly served her country in the United States Marines. She was the oldest living female kidney recipient (29 years) in East Tennessee. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Heptinstall and a brother, Steve Heptinstall. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, John Walker; sister, Karen Matlock (Charles); brothers: Doug Corne, Fred Heptinstall (Kim) and Rex Heptinstall (Angela), along with several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 8:00 with Pastor Jim Robertson officiating. Graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm in Lynnhurst Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the gravesite by 1:45 pm for the service. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at U.T. Hospice for their love and care of Mrs. Walker.
