George Washington Williams, age 91, of Knoxville, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed. George retired from Cherokee Borders and U.S. Security. He was a member of City View Baptist Church and the Fairdale Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. George enjoyed spending time with his friends and listening to Country and Southern Gospel music. He loved his wife Pat and enjoyed being with her. He always said she was his "Sunshine". George was preceded in death by his parents, George Williams and Elsie Carpenter; wife, Addalene Williams; children, Tony Williams, and Bill Reak Jr. and five siblings.
George is survived by his wife, Pat Grant; children, Benny Williams of Kentucky, Renee Williams Burnett of South Carolina, Glenn Williams of Tennessee, Wayne Welsh of Kentucky, Jack Reak of Colorado, and Gina Musso of New York; grandchildren, Dale, Jennifer, Erin, Kelsey, Melissa, Geoffrey, Cindy, Barbara, Sarah, Susie, Ryan, Jimmy, and Kimberly as well as numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Caris Healthcare especially CNA's, Amy Cross and Amber Daughtry, nurses, Jenny Napier and Liz Rache, and daughter-in-law, Denise Williams for all of the love and care they provided. He loved them all. The family appreciates all the friends and neighbors that came to visit and help in his time of need.
George's family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 1:00pm - 2:30pm at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932, with his funeral service and burial immediately following. Rev. Luckey Steele and Rev. Gene Hurley will officiate.
