George D. Davis

George D. Davis, age 95, of Corryton, Tennessee left his earthly home to enter his eternal home on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 surrounded by family. Once George met his Lord and Savior he was reunited at Heaven's Gates with his loving wife, Gerry and son, Greg Davis. George was a devoted man of God who served as a Deacon for many years at Fairview and Graveston Baptist Church. George was a longstanding member of Graveston and loved telling others about the goodness of God. George served in the Army as an aerial photographer with the Army Maps Service. George retired from the United Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and after retirement enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George was also a member of the Corryton Masonic Lodge.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Gerry Davis; son, Greg Davis; parents, Garrett and Stella Davis; brothers, Harold, Raymond, David, and Jim Davis; and sister, Wanda. George is survived by his son, Geff (Monique) Davis; daughter-in-law, Teresa Davis Farmer; grandchildren, Josh Davis, Haylea (Brandon) Bates, Cade and Cooper Davis; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bentlee, Blue, and Berek Bates; and loving sister, Brenda (Loren) Kranz. Also his much loved extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm,Monday, August 28, 2023, with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm, at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. Pastor Mark Kitts and Pastor Danny Neal will officiate. The interment will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
