George Burchell Sr.

Burchell, Sr., George William, age 93, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 18, 2011. Mr. Burchell was a member of Meridian Baptist Church and the Ready Sunday School Class. Retired Shift Supervisor of Aluminum Company of America, North Ingot Plant, with 45 years of service. Mr. Burchell was also a member of the 25 Year Club. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Member of Masonic Lodge 769 F&AM and Kerbela Shrine. Preceded in death by parents, Bob and Ruth Burchell; brother, Robert Burchell. Survived by wife of 61 years, Ruth Burchell; daughter, Bobbi Henry (Guy); son, George W. (Billy) Burchell, Jr. (JoAnn); daughter, Pam Rogers (Ronnie); grandchildren, David Henry (Michelle), Christy and Ryan Burchell, Morgan and Bryan Rogers; great grandchildren, Drew and Evan Henry; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Marshall Neal of Daytona Beach, Fla. Special thanks to caregiver Susan Jones and the staff of 2 North at Ft. Sanders Regional. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 20th from 4:00-6:00 pm at Meridian Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm, Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Family and friends will meet Sunday, August 21, 2011, 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery for the internment.
