Earl McKinley Watson

Earl M. Watson, 86, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, at his home. He was a long-time member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Margaret Watson, and Trula Worsham; sister, Alice Sandefur; mother-in-law, Louise Acuff; son in-law, Gary Nelson; grandchildren, Dustin James and Megan James Phillips.

Survived by his wife of 67 years Jean Watson; son, Michael and wife Janet Watson; daughter, Mitzi and husband Bill Owens; daughter, Marla Watson Holland, and daughter, Michelle Watson Nelson; grandchildren, Michael(Donna), Aaron(Ashley), Erika(Matthew), Matthew(Anastasia), Whitney(Philip), Tiffany(Jay), Kaitlyn(Virgil), and Jeana as well as twenty-four great grandchildren; sisters, Blanche, Ruth(Richard), Lisa(Darrell), Shirley, Wilma, Edna, Mary, Louise, Debbie; brothers, Junior(Jewel), David, Dexter, Paul and sister in-law and brother in-law Jo Netta and Gary Taylor, and several nieces, nephews, cousin and close friends.

Family and friends will gather to honor the legacy of Earl on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with a visitation from 12:00pm to 2:00pm and a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Family and friends will go in procession to Berry Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 Adair Dr., Knoxville, TN 37918. Services to be officiated by Rev. Jerry Crye and Rev. J.R. McMahan.
