Doris Darnell Galyon McPeters

Doris Darnell Galyon McPeters, age 83, of Knoxville, TN began her heavenly celebration on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Doris was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Loveland Baptist Church and the Loveland Golden Gang. She was a longtime bowling enthusiast, softball player, and BINGO! lover. She enjoyed traveling with Wayne and above all Doris loved her family.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, Elmer and Emma Darnell; husband, Bennie Galyon; granddaughter, Maranda Flynn, and siblings, Alfred, Bud, Jim, Willis, Lillie Mae, Gene, Fred, Priscilla, Elizabeth, and Jasper.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Wayne McPeters and her beloved Izzie; children, Howard (Gerri) Galyon, Michelle (Dan) Nower, Stephanie Ogle, Michael Galyon, Wendy (Scott) Schaller, Krista (Bradley) Allen, Andrew (Beth) McPeters; sister, Juanita Keymer; sister-in-law, Martha Darnell; grandchildren, Emma, Nathaniel, Derek, Ben, Bethany, Dameron, Kassi, Russell, Andrew, and Emily, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Family and friends will gather to honor the legacy of Doris at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920 on Sunday, November, 17, 2024 with a visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 10:15am to go in procession to Stock Creek Cemetery, 8106 Martin Mill Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920 for an 11:00am graveside service.
