Charles (Charlie) Wayne Lundy

Lundy, Charles (Charlie) Wayne, age 79 of Knoxville, passed from this life to his eternal reward through faith in Christ on Wednesday, July 20. Charles was an active member and deacon at South Knoxville Church of God, where he worshiped and served since 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd William Lundy and Grace Moore Lundy and son, Mark Lundy. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, LeeVena Lundy; sons, Steve Lundy (Michelle), Phil Lundy (Mitzi); devoted daughter, Brenda Hurst (David); granddaughters, Dareth Hall (Matthew), Jessica Hurst (David), Kelsey Childress (Jesse), Jennifer Kibler; grandsons, Phillip Lundy, Jr., William Lundy, David Hurst (Jessica), Darren Hurst (Holly) and great-grandchildren Parker Hall, Gavin Hall, Maxim Hurst, Harris Hurst, Murphi Hurst and Carolina Childress.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 pm at South Knoxville Church of God (5623 Magazine Road) on Saturday, July 23, with the memorial service following at 2:00 pm Rev. David Hurst and Rev. Robert Branch officiating. The family will convene at Berry Highland South on Simpson Road for burial after the service.
