Charles D. Allen, Sr. of Knoxville, passed away October 14, 2024. He was in the Army Air Corp and transferred to the Air Force at its inception. He was a jack of all trades, loved teaching dancing and was a jazz musician. Charles was a minister in the 119th ACS also a ordained minister. His stories were his legacy, loved telling stories and enjoyed a good laugh even if he was the only one laughing. He was preceded in death by, Howard and Flossie Allen, Paul Allen, Beryl “Pat” Allen, Ruth Speaks, Edith DeMarcus, Cleo Robinson, and Fred Hurst. Survived by wife of 68 years Verna Mae; sons, Michael Hammond (Susan), Steven Allen, Charles Allen (Sheena), four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
