Carolyn Ann (Coile) Webb, age 71, died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 12, after an extended battle with cancer. A lifelong Knoxville resident and graduate of South High School, Carolyn was a successful career woman, active community member, wife and mother of two. Her professional career included senior positions at Millers Department Store, General Electric, and Kimball's Jewelers, before retiring in 2007. Daughter of pastor, John William Coile and wife Virginia Clyde Coile, she was an active member at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Knoxville, for many years before changing residence and joining First Baptist Church of Lenoir City. Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother, John Coile, Jr. and sisters, Nancy Coile and Bonnie Hancock. Carolyn loved people and hard work, was intensely loyal to family and friends, generous and joyful in the face of adversity and deeply spiritual. She was always there to build up others while downplaying her own accomplishments. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Carroll Webb of 53 years, daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Mike Langford, and son and daughter-in-law Edward and Lana Webb, as well as grandchildren Emily (17), Sarah (16), Connor (13), and Bryce (11). The family will receive friends Sunday, November 15 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920. Rev. Dick DeMerchant and Rev. Ron Jordan officiating. Family and friends will meet Monday, November 16, at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 9010 Simpson Rd., Knoxville TN 37920 for a 1:00 pm interment service.
