Carolyn Jean Pettit, age 79, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. She deeply loved her family and friends. Carolyn was an elementary school educator for 39 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Fountain City.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Irene Reed. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Glenn Pettit; son, Michael (Amy) Pettit; daughter, Amy (Scott) Hamilton; grandchildren, Evan (Hannah) and Garret Hamilton, Nathan and Nicholas Pettit; sister, Brenda Martinez; aunts, cousins, nieces, great nieces and great nephews; and many lifelong friends.
Family will receive friends Thursday, December 22nd from 4-6pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Graveside service will take place Friday, December 23rd, meeting at Greenwood Cemetery on Tazewell Pike at 10:45am for an 11am service. Rev. Ande Myers to officiate.
