Carol Ann Idol

Carol Ann Idol, age 63, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Seymour. She was employed by Knox County Schools for forty years as a teacher and administrator, most recently as a Pre-K supervisor. Carol was very dedicated to bettering the lives of children. During Carol’s career she was awarded Teacher of the Year and recently earned the Lifetime Achievement Award from High Scope for all her hard work and dedication to early childhood curriculum. She was a board member for the Tennessee Valley Players and was named Stage Manager Emeritus. Carol had a passion for the arts. She is survived by her husband, Steve B. Idol; son Steve Idol; grandson, Grant Idol; sister, Sue Oldacre; several nieces, nephews, and other family members. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tennessee Valley Players, PO Box 50603, Knoxville, Tennessee 37950 or Holy Family Catholic Church 307 Black Oak Ridge Road, Seymour, TN 37865. A Funeral Mass will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 5:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Seymour with a celebration of Carol’s life to follow.
