Brenda Upchurch, age 65 of Knoxville, TN passed away on Sunday, May 14th at UT Hospital in Knoxville after suffering from several health problems for many years. Brenda was a life-long resident of Knoxville and was married to her loving husband, Mike, for 51 years.
She was a devoted Christian and attended Grace Baptist Church in Knoxville as often as her health permitted. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Grace Baptist, attending her small group classes, and participating in several church ministries. She rejoiced in the fact that her children and grandchildren had all been saved and accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Knowing this, she was able to have comfort knowing that she would one day see them again in Heaven.
Brenda enjoyed cooking, gardening, maintaining beautiful flower beds, and caring for her special dog, Titan. She loved having family and friends at her house for holiday gatherings and cooking amazing food for them.
She retired from her career as a dispatcher at Knox County E911. She also retired from Jewelry Television in Knoxville. She dearly loved everyone and will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, William Denver and Cora Ethel Franse; her brother, Jimmy Ray Franse; and her grandson, Derrik Simcox. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Upchurch; her two daughters, Angela (Ottie) Payne and Michelle Squailia; her grandchildren, Dylan (Sara) Moore, Kristin Squailia, Tiffany Squailia, and Andrew Myers; her great-grandchildren, Mason and Aaron Moore.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Weaver Funeral Home, 5815 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921. The funeral service will be at 7:00pm following the visitation of family and friends. A graveside service will occur Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11:00am at Bell’s Campground Cemetery, 7905 Bell Campground Rd, Powell, TN 37849. Dr. Bobby Lewis, Sr Pastor at Grace Baptist Church will be officiating. Music and songs will be by Jeff Davis, Worship Pastor at Grace Baptist Church.
