The oldest of four children, Bonnie was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she graduated from City High School. She then received her R.N. degree from Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing, studied anesthesia at the University of Alabama, and graduated from The University of Tennessee as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
Bonnie was known for her generosity, kindness, and humor. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Arnold and James Reese. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Buonocore, M.D. She is survived by her daughter, Christy Howell Moore and husband, R.J.; Trish Buonocore Medlin; Susan Buonocore Zaunbrecher and husband Don; son, Joseph C. Howell and wife Ashley; her grandson, Joseph Dowling Howell; her siblings, D.J. Healy, Nansi Reese, Lloyd Lofton, Donna Short, and Rene Mulligan; a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, wonderful cousins, and many friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Catherine Bell, Bennie Davis, Martha Long, Beth Luton, Susie Witt, and Bill Watts.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. George Doebler, will be held at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, September 22 at 10 a.m. A family service will be held for inurnment.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Interfaith Health Clinic, Knoxville, TN, or to a charity of choice.
