Mr. Billy Ray Rudd, age 76 of Seymour, passed away Friday, October 10th. He was born on September 2, 1938, in Knox Co., to the late Sam and Grace Rudd. Mr. Rudd started working at White Store at the age of 16, and retired after 38 years and then mowed yards until recently. He loved sitting in his swing on his front porch and an every Sunday morning ritual after attending church of gathering at the Thrifty Center with all his family. Little things “Grandad” was known for: slipping you money, pinching you under your arm, and singing at church on Sunday mornings. Mr. Rudd is survived by: loving wife of 56 years, Betty Ogle Rudd; Daughters, Teresa (Rodney) Ford, Becky (Tim) Gibson, and Penny (Gary) Atchley; grandchildren, Cory (Samantha), Anna (Travis), Lance(Brittany), Danielle, and Adam; great-grandchildren, Reagan & Ayda, Addie, L.J., Isaiah, Kaylee, Waylon, and 3 more on the way; sister, Nora Rudd; and brother, Ronald (Barbara) Rudd. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14, at 7p.m. at New Salem United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 5p.m. Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 15, at 10a.m. at Berry Highland South Cemetery.
