Mullins, Billy “Moon”, Sr., age 79, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday September 6, 2012 at Parkwest Hospital. He was a member of Marble City United Methodist Church, a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Elk’s lodge 160, a constable for 8 years, and one time ran for Knox County Sherriff. Moon was the owner of Sutherland Wrecker Service for 53 years and Moon’s Used Parts. He was preceded in death by: parents James and Sadie Mullins, brother Kenny Ray Mullins, brothers-in-law Jack and Tommy Smith, and his little buddy Shadow. Moon is survived by: best friend and loving wife of 59 years Shirley Mullins; children: Chris Mullins, Billy and wife Yvonne Mullins, Jr., and Joe Mullins; grandchildren: Jessica and husband Nick Jones, Erica Mullins, Tyler Mullins, Haley Mullins, and Brenda Mullins (mother of Tyler and Haley); great-grandchildren: Cody Mullins, RJ Brooks, and Brody Brooks; brothers Paul and wife Evelyn Mullins and Chuck and wife Lois Wilson; special niece Teresa Olmstead; and special friend Gabby Rutherford. The family will receive friends on Sunday September 9th from 4-8 PM at Weaver Funeral Home. ON Monday, family and friends will meet at Weaver Funeral Home at 1:00 PM to travel in procession to Highland Memorial Cemetery for a graveside service to be held at 2:00 PM.
