Billy "Bill" Ray Carpenter, age 91, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. He was a long-time member of Meridian Baptist Church. Bill retired from South Bell Telephone Company after 38 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Carpenter.
Survived by loving wife of 71 years, Margaret Carpenter; son, Jerry Carpenter; daughters, Linda (Ken) Bolin, Brenda (Craig) McCutcheon; grandchildren, Derick (Jennifer) Bolin, Ryan (Joy) Carpenter;
step-grandson, Jeramy McCutcheon; great-grandchildren, Devin and Emma Bolin, Addyson and Blakely Carpenter; step-great-grandson, Liam McCutcheon.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at noon in the chapel of Berry Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 E. Simson Rd., Knoxville with Rev. Dana Fachman officiating, with the committal to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Meridian Baptist Church in Memory of Mr. Carpenter, 6513 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
