Allen Gary Satterfield

Allen Gary Satterfield, age 65, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2015. He was a veteran of the US Army where he attained the rank of Lieutenant and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1972. He played both football and baseball his first two years. He held the record for most homeruns hit by a freshman. He was a loving father and best friend to Mark. He was taken way too soon. Allen Gary was preceded in death by his father, William Dan Satterfield; sister, Sharon Kincaid; and mother-in-law, Delores Hickle. He is survived by his son, Mark Satterfield; wife, Sandra Satterfield; mother, Evelyn Satterfield; father-in-law, Robert Hickle; brother-in-law Terry Hickle and wife Lois; sister-in-law, Kim Sexton; brother-in-law, Timothy Hickle and wife Samantha; brother-in-law, Ronnie Kincaid; special friend, Larry Kelly; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by Volunteer State Honor Guard.
