Nina Wilke

WILKE, Nina – Passed away peacefully on February 20, 2014 in her 92nd year at Sunnyside Home. Beloved wife of the late Harold (1990). Loving mother of Barbara and her husband Nick Muller of Waterloo and Brenda and her husband Ross Leighton of Caledon East. Dearest grandmother of Michelle Talbot (Jay), Tracey Mitchell (Lance), Darrell Leighton (Carmen Kokayko) and Tiffany Leighton (Tristan Brown). Great grandmother of Bradley and Jeffrey Talbot and Nicole and Tyler Mitchell. Sister of Betty Ricciardi (Mannie) and the late Shirley Romey, Vivian Preston, Floyd Desjardine and Luella Desjardine. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Nina spent many years volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross as well as other senior focused organizations. Along with her husband Harold, she was a member of Zion United Church and the Rockway Golf and Country Club. Nina was an avid and excellent bridge player, never missing a game. A special thank you to all the staff at Sunnyside Home for their excellent care. Visitation will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West, Kitchener 519-745-9495 on Tuesday, February 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be in the chapel on Wednesday, February 26 at 11:30 am with reception to follow in the Family Centre. Private interment at Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnyside Home or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
