Donald John Shantz

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Emma Shantz for 62 years. Dear father of Cindy Winegarden (Ken) and Karen Pike (Allan). Loved grandfather of Josh, Alyssa (Adam), Katie, Jeffrey (Mika), Jason, Kendal, Kelsey and Courtney, and great grandfather of Gabe and Griffin. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Edna Shantz, his brother Stewart, and his sister Grace Rouse. Don worked for many years as the owner/operator of Shantz Refrigeration Ltd. Don’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900) on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 2:30 – 4:30 and 7 – 9 pm. Visitation will continue at Kitchener Gospel Temple, 9 Conway Dr., Kitchener, on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 10:00 – 10:45 am, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with Pastor John Stewart officiating. Interment Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery.
