Dale was my grandmother i loved her very much

I was 9 years old when our mom brought home a chubby baby girl.Her name was Dale, but we called her Pinky at first. Our family included several cats, so pets were a part of her life early on. As Dale got older she was always bringing home bugs, and other critters to observe or more often to heal. From a early age she vowed she would be a vet when she grew up. Her role model was our cats vet Jean Rumney. Sadly over the years we rarely saw each other, but kept in touch by phone. When our widowed mother developed alzheimers, Dale had endless patience with her. When mom refused to got to Kitchener for xmas Dale took Xmas dinner and the family to Hamilton, so she wouldn't be alone. What a great example she set for her kids. I' ll miss you Dale. I would like to extend my sincere condolescence to the Adorian family.  Dr. Adorian was the vet for my cats since 1981.  I found her to be a very knowledgeable and compassionate person who would explain everything and do whatever she could for my guys.  She will be miss by many.

We first met Dale through Joanne- when Jo came to live with our family and work as an intern on our whale watch in Cape Breton Island. Then later Jesse, my aon,  basically took up residence with Dale and Jo when he was studying near Kitchner--so I have always felt as if we were connected-- now I feel as if I have lost someone in my family. And I feel as if the world has lost someone very special. What an amazing woman. We send our love to Jo and Paul and Russell.

I have great memories of Dale as a child and as a young man . fishing, camping and staying up all night playing guitars and singing old songs . I had not seen Dale in many years but i will miss her very much .

Knowing Dr. Dale Adourian enriched my life. She was intelligent and compassionate. She demonstrated the greatest dedication when looking after my dogs and I always felt that she would do her utmost for us. She was clam in manner and always patient and willing to talk out all possibilities with me. I wish that I had of known her better but am content to have known her at all. I miss her already! Sincerest condolences to her family.

I have known Dale for 18 yrs - although only through the clinic - I always felt she knew exactly what my pups (past & present) meant to me. I cannot thank her enough for never putting them on a table, for never crating them before a surgery, for letting me hold them to bandage broken toes or remove their lumps & bumps, and the most difficult days of all, for mercifully letting them go when the time came.  Her approach was always gentle, effortless & relaxed, as she was sniffed, licked & poked....like a long lost friend....my Shepherds will miss her, & I will miss her, for all my pups to come....

I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Adourian. Dale was a kind, gentle and compassionate vet. My family had the unfortunate experience of having a house fire with the loss of a beloved pet. Dr. Adourian grieved along with us and astonishingly, as much as she loved animals, she was sure that our pet, who had saved our lives would have wanted it that way!
That kindness of that message at that time of our lives struck us to the core. May she rest in peace and our condolences go out to her family. Catherine Stemeroff and family.

We are so sorry to hear we have lost such an angel. Dr. Adourian has been a part of our family for 15 years, always so kind, caring and never giving up on my unique cases! We will miss you. God Bless.

Our family first met Dr. Adourian in the 70's when my father in law who was an inspector with the Ontario Vetrinary College recommended St. Francis as the best clinic in the area.  I was also impressed that the vets were all female.  We, and our pets benefitted from her kind and gentle care of our various basset hounds, mutts and cats over the years.  I was so shocked to hear of her illness and passing when I requested an appointment with her recently.   My family truly appreciates her kindness and offer our sincere condolences to her family and staff at St. Francis.

My thoughts are with Dale's family. I have not seen her in many years, but when I was young, I wanted to be a veterinarian. This was not an easy thing for a woman to do in those days. Dale encouraged me and I worked at the St. Francis Clinic to get experience. I was accepted to vet school and it has been a great profession for me. Dale had a big part in my success and I will always be grateful to her for her encouragement. She will be missed.

Our family is truly saddened at the passing of Dr. Adourian.  Dale was our vet for the past 37 years caring for 9 of our beloved pets, all living to be 14-18 years of age thanks to her compassionate care.  

Dale always took time to listen to concerns and to offer advice no matter the time of day. Many follow up calls came later at night and it was always a relief to the concerned pet owner, to hear her kind soft voice. She always made you feel re-assured.  

Dale's love and desire to make a pet feel comfortable in her care, brought her to her knees, right along side them on that ceramic tiled floor. Never a visit went by that she did not greet the pet with a hello by name and then a gentle pat.

Over the years we talked about our families, and how they had grown and compared our experiences on the Bruce Trail.  I will miss our chats but trust that she is now in a beautiful meadow with all her beloved pets at her side.

My condolences to the family. Dr. Adourian truly found her calling. What an awesome person/vet she was. My pets got the very best care from her and she will definitely be missed. I can only imagine how many pets will greet her at the Rainbow Bridge.

My sincere condolences to the family; I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Adourian's passing.  Like many others, I, along with my pets, had the pleasure of her care and compassion for more than 20 years - she was truly doing what she loved and it showed.  Her passing is a great loss.

Thanks to Dr Adourian for all the wonderful care you have given to all our family pets over the years since you opened your practise in Kitchener. You will be greatly missed.

Dale was and always will be in our hearts.  I would call her at times when I did not know what to do with a stray cat or animal I had found and she always gave me advice.  And that advice also came in so many other ways, I always looked forward to seeing her at the cottage and sitting on the dock and just talking.  She questioned and analized many situations from the end of the dock.  I will sit there this summer and feel her there with us all.   She was a great person.

Iin recent years I met Dale many times at meetings of the golgen triangle veterinary  academy,and always had a smile,how are you classmate. I was shockrd to hear of her passing just a few minutes ago. My deepest condolences to her family.Peter Shaham

I have many wonderful memories of Dale from our childhood,teenage years and adulthood. I will miss you for the rest of my life my dear friend. Our love to Paul, Russel and Joanne.

Dr. Adourian was our vet for only 2 years but she is by far the best vet we had ever had. She was so patient and kind with the animals and wonderful with the "people" clients too. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

We first met Dale soon after her practice opened when we were finishing graduate school and beginning our careers in the late 1960s.  She remained a part of our lives throughout the dissertation defenses, first jobs, purchase of a home, birth of children and the joy/pain associated with a series of pets over the next 25 years until we moved out of the area.  She was our mainstay in times of distress, indecision and loss, and we had ultimate confidence in her diagnostic and surgical skills. Over the years, we also were the grateful recipients of her patience, quiet assurance, sensitive advice and deadpan humor.  Dale waited for our kids to say their goodbyes when she arrived at our house in the middle of the night to ease the passing of our Beasto.  She met us at the clinic at midnight to deal with congestive heart failure in Lucas and later to monitor and then do 5 AM surgery on Joshua who ate both the sandwich and the cling wrap. She walked us through the Easter morning when Tara ate the 1 pound chocolate chicken and the foil wrap.  The list goes on and on. Dale did no-cost emergency interventions for animals we found hit by the side of the road.  She returned phone calls and found appointment times when the schedule was fully booked.  And she was always the same – calm, unhurried, thoughtful, nonjudgmental - early in the morning, at the end of a long day or the middle of the night.  No matter what the problem or hour, she always made us feel as though she was wholly “present” with us and had all the time in the world. Dale never made us feel that we were delaying or inconveniencing her, and she always took time to listen, explain, present options, help us do what was right for the animal and deal with our own mixed feelings, guilt or grief.   Over the years, we became increasingly aware of each other’s graying hair, and we spoke about plans for the second half of our lives.   Even when we no longer had regular contact, it somehow never occurred to us that Dale wasn’t somewhere in the world - wearing her nondescript baggy sweatshirts and pushing  the hair out of her eyes  - making life better for dogs, cats and people. It is very hard for us to imagine her gone and we are so grateful that she was a part of our lives. We are confident that Dale now is “on a farther shore…in a greater light” where we imagine her walking in the woods with a well-engineered backpack and a happy Labrador retriever at her side.

Dale was a wonderful vet.  With care she looked after the health of our two cats, Kiki (stones) and Bridget and our Olde English Sheepdog, Judge. She set a high standard of professional service that took us years to replace after we moved out of the area.

Such a kind and wonderful person.  She will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear of Dale's passing.  Since we moved here in 1973 Dale has dealt with the myriad of animals that lived at our house with care, compassion and common sense. She will be greatly missed.

We were very saddened to hear of Dr Adourian's passing. We knew her when we lived in Kitchener. She was the vet for our pets, for over 15 years. You could not find a kinder, more caring person. Our precious animals were always so well looked after, we had complete trust in her. Since moving home to Nova Scotia we have often talked about her and how we wish she was down here practicing.

Shortly after Dale opened her new clinic on Pandora, she was looking for a home for a lovely Chocolate Point who had a distinct attitude.  Coco became the ruler of our 2 cats for l5 years and the love of my life.  Dale's devotion to animals and her family is so apparent in the most enjoyable pictorial journey through her busy life and career.  I remember her with much admiration and want to offer my condolences to her husband and childen who will have so many wonderful memories of a lovely lady.

Growing up my parents and I shared the other half of a semi with Dale and her family.  I grew up with the family.  We had many fun times and I spent a few summers at the clinic and got to tend the animals, because of this time I have such a love of animals.
