Catherine Ann Marie Gouthro Almond

Cathy (née Gouthro) passed away surrounded by her loving family at Guelph General Hospital on Friday January 1, 2016 at the age of 52. She is remembered as the beloved wife of 26 years of Dwayne Almond and the much loved mother and devoted “Mom” of sons Jordan (Alex) and Braeden all of Kitchener.

Cathy is lovingly remembered by her mother Ann Neily of Trenton and by her step-father Scott Neily of Nova Scotia and by her sister Judy (Carl Keenan) of Baltimore, brother Jim (Rebecca) of Prescott and by her step-brother Scott (Marina) of Guelph and she will be remembered also as a special aunt to their children.

Also survived by her mother-in-law Verna (late Raeburn) Almond of Meaford and recalled with affection as a caring sister-in-law and aunt by the Almond families.

Cathy’s cheerful and exuberant demeanour will be sorely missed by her many dear friends and by her co-workers at Sun Life Financial.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration of Cathy’s life will be conducted at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, ON on Saturday January 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. where family will receive friends the hour prior to service and at a reception to follow.
