He will be deeply missed by his daughter, caregiver and companion Jackie, his loving son Richard along with his family; Patrice, Lara (Steve & Indy), Kyle (McKenzie & Isaac), Chance & Liam (Sam). He is together now with his beloved wife Phyllis (1930-1999).
He and Phyllis came to Canada in the 1970’s from England (by way of Jamaica) with their young family. Gus worked for Babcock & Wilcox, then Chicopee Manufacturing until his retirement. A doting father, always game to attend early morning hockey practice or soccer games, and social events. He and Phyllis spent many wonderful years as snowbirds at their home in Clearwater, Florida entertaining friends and family. Gus loved to walk; you could find him out from the crack of dawn until noon out in the fresh air until mobility became an issue. His greatest love after his wife was his Toronto Blue Jays. He never missed a game.
Please join us to celebrate his life and memories at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener on Friday, October 11th from 6 – 9 pm and on Saturday, October 12th from 9 – 11 am. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
