In a workplace, you’re likely to find collaborators who come to really know your story, but being new to a company there are only so many you can count in those numbers.  If you’re lucky some of those people will even become your champions and have your back 100% - especially when the times feel the most dire.  It often takes time to make those connections; But from the minute I met Sam, she was one of those people for me.  She was encouraging, reassuring, and protective, and even when I moved to another team she still treated me as one of hers.  Our last time together was a moment of generosity - a small gift out of the blue - and I cherish it dearly.  I’m so sorry that we won’t have a chance to share more moments with her and that I can’t be at the memorial to share in the celebration of her life; My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Samantha (Sam), ever the talented, confidence, reassuring and generously compassionate woman, has always been an excellent professional, with a heart of gold. Sweet, funny and kind, I recall her lighthearted costume, for Halloween, during my internship. Knowing her passion, talent and efficiency gained her promotion to area leader was such a celebratory moment.... And knowing that she inspired and lead her teams beautifully in every way. She noticed people's struggles, showed them love and that despite her schedule, cared for and knew each person inside and out. 

Sam, we do miss you, thank you for being an extraordinary person, and making our lives better for being in them. Our love and admiration are with you always.

You traveled to Louisiana for our Cajun wedding!

I remember the time we did overnight for  Tiana. It was getting long ...I rember you started singing 
"You gotta dig a little deeper" I laughed because I knew  I was starting to drag myself..and just like that you picked the right song... you brought a cupcake to celebrate my birthday  during one of the overnights. It meant alot to me..Thank you.. I always tell people that you were an amazing manager and a teacher. I enjoyed working with you and learning from you. RIP....Elvie

Samantha was my sister when her parents adopted me into their family. She always took care of ALL of us. Most specifically with her cooking. She was our very own Martha Stewart. For more than half of my life I had a big sister that loved me, looked after me and taught me so much. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but believe she would protect with a fierceness like no other. She was a hard worker, and she was always a leader. She’s the one you always wanted on your side. It’s going to be hard not having her around, but somehow I know she will still keep a watchful eye on us and let her presence be known. I love you, Samantha. Always and forever. Now you can fly high with Mother and Father.
