She was married to her husband, Darrold, for 37 years.
Marilyn was a friendly and happy person. She loved taking care of her garden. She grew many types of plants. She also loved finding ‘stuff’ on the side of the road to add to her garden, like patio tables and chairs. She enjoyed painting pots to make her garden more colorful. Marilyn also enjoyed her dogs! The dogs were so excited to her when she returned home. They knew they would get a treat!
Marilyn found joy in her work. She was most proud of earning her Water and Domestic Wastewater Operator Certification. She worked in this field for 15 years in the City of Kissimmee, the City of St. Cloud, and Good Samaritan Village. Then she and Darrold became a small business owner at Lawnmowerman in Orlando. Darrold fixed the lawnmowers while Marilyn was the Office Manager. Together, they were a team keeping the business running for 22 years!
One of the memories Darrold shared, was going to Chattanooga, Tennessee for their anniversary with Kris and Vickie Sullivan (who also shared their anniversary). They enjoyed riding around in the Smokey Mountains and looking at the scenery. They also enjoyed bar-b-que at Chimney Tops in the Great Smokey Mountains. When the kids were little, Marilyn loved taking them fishing.
Marilyn’s favorite color was Blue and her favorite song was “Dizzy” by Tommy Roe. She loved eating at Cracker Barrel and the Catfish Place in St. Cloud.
