He and his wife, Loretta Adkins Mormino, were married June 9, 1973 and recently celebrated their 48th anniversary in their favorite city, San Diego, California.
In addition to Loretta, John is survived by his brother, Mathew Sr., (Pam) three nephews, Mathew Jr. (Kelly), Thomas (Kathy) Mormino of Connecticut, and Richard (Rick) (Cyndi) Mormino of San Antonio, TX; three great-nieces and two great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dominick.
John’s unassuming nature was one of the reasons people loved working with and for him. His joyful personality and keen sense of humor made him a pleasure to interact with. He loved good conversation and was always interested in how people saw the world.
One of John’s co-workers sent this note, and it captures his essence very well.
“John was a wonderful person and a pleasure to work with. He was such a caring person and so very unassuming. During the past year, we worked closely together on a difficult client and John exceeded my expectations. John’s low-key nature allowed him to continue to make progress in spite of endless delays, which were out of his control. I found him to be extremely smart and very respectful of others. He was an exceptional human.”
While John will be sorely missed by those who knew him, we will relish the wonderful memories that he gave us and look forward to seeing him again when we meet Jesus.
