John Young Brown Hood, 71, passed away on June 10, 2011 in Humble, TX. He was born on June 9, 1940 in Reidsville, NC to Walter and Hattie Hood. John grew up and attended school in Gary, West Virginia. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in electrical engineering and then from South Texas College of Law as a Doctor of Jurisprudence. John loved cars and his career as an attorney. He was a member of the Kingwood United Methodist Church and the Gary High School Coaldiggers Alumni as well as holding a seat on the Board for the Sand Creek Sea Lions Swim Team. He is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife Lindy Hood, his daughters Mallory Hood, Stephanie Hood, and Laura Guest and her husband Matt and his son John Y.B. Hood II as well as his grandchildren Sonya Hood, John Y.B. Hood III, Thomas Hood and Austin Guest. He also leaves behind his sisters Jean Hood Cutshaw and husband Victor and Joyce Hood Caldwell and husband Jimmy and brother Bobby Hood and wife Beth. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association. A memorial service will be held at Kingwood United Methodist Church located at 1799 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood, Texas 77339 on Wednesday June 15 at 11:00 AM.
