Jerome Robert Schiller

Jerome Robert (JR) Schiller, 90, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014. JR was born in Cameron, TX on September 4, 1924 to Alois and O’Tillie Schiller. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater (Hokkaido, Japan). Upon returning from the service he married Margaret Laverne Litzman on November 12, 1946. They started their married life as farmers in Falls County, TX. After a few years they moved to Houston and started Schiller Masonry Company. After retiring JR and Margaret moved to Sam Rayburn, TX. There he took up his favorite hobbies, golf and fishing.

Those left to cherish and honor JR’s memory are his beloved wife of nearly 68 years, Margaret Laverne Schiller; children, Kenneth (Susan), Marsha (Julie), David (Maribeth); grandchildren, Bryan (Mariel), Brittany (Abel), Laura (Matthew), Kimberly; great grandchildren, Austin and Avery.

There will be a viewing and visitation beginning at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 N Kingwood, TX 77339.

A rosary will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Kingwood Funeral Home. Internment will immediately follow at Houston National Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Houston Extended Care for the wonderful care they gave JR and Odyssey Hospice who was of great support as well.
