Dear Mrs. Davis, Jim and Andrea:

My heartfelt condolances for your loss. I have nothing but fond memories of Dr. Davis and our families growing up together on Mapleway street.  The Palko family couldn't have asked for better neighbors.

Dr. Davis was my principal at Woodland Acres Jr. High 1970-1972...7th, 8th and 9th grades...he was a great administrator in the turbulent times of Fidelity schools being integrated into GPISD...we had only one minor skirmish, and I attribute that to his handling of the whole overall situation and preparing his administration and staff for any incidents whatsoever...He was stern, but extremely fair...kind, but had a hammer when he needed it...Educators and administratos in the education world could take a single page from his book and immediately increase the integrity and knowledge skills in children and teens...just imagine what they could do if they would just read every page in all the books of the James Davis Library...RIP, Dr. Davis...you will be missed.

Dr. Davis hired me in 1977 to teach Spanish at WAMS. My favorite memory of Dr. Davis was when he took his sports coat off his back so a young man who didn't have the proper clothing could participate in the Valentine's Coronation Court. He did so many kind things when he was Principal at WAMS that nobody ever knew about. My condolences to his family.

Everyone at Walden on Lake Houston Golf and Country Club loved having Jimmy on their team. He was always fun to be with and always full of jokes. He will be missed dearly.
