Irene Elizabeth Seib, 90, of Kingwood, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012. Irene was born on January, 23, 1922 in Blacksburg, VA. to Pearlie and Margie Price. She graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1943 before working in the United States Signal Corps during the war. Irene later worked for Eastern Airlines as a stewardess. Irene was married to Carroll Joseph Seib in 1953 and they later moved to New Orleans, LA in 1964, where they raised their family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was involved in Altar Guild, Loaves and Fishes and Stephen’s Ministries. Irene lost her home in 2005 to Hurricane Katrina which relocated her to Houston. There she became a member of Strawbridge United Methodist Church, where she quickly made many new friends and volunteered her time to a number of charities. Irene touched the lives of everyone she met with her kind heart, ever present smile and uninhibited expression of love.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll. She is survived by her children, Paul Michael Seib and wife Loran, Carol Lynn Lesniak and husband Les and Virginia Elizabeth Axton; grandchildren, Hunter, Judson, Eva and Lucy.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Strawbridge United Methodist Church, 5629 Kingwood Drive, Kingwood, TX 77345. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
