Christopher Timothy Carroll

Chris was born in Mexico as a birth abroad on February 5, 1988. His hometown is Elgin Texas.

Chris passed tragically at his home in Kingwood Texas in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 27th.

Chris was a father, husband, son, brother, American, soldier and hero. Chris was passionate in everything he did, putting his whole heart into school, sports, service, family, husband and parenting.

He was more than a Daddy to his 16-month-old daughter Isabella. He was her sunshine every day.

Daddy was her best friend, teacher, playmate and protector. Chris was the best father we have ever known.

Chris was a full-time father working from home to complete training to be a firefighter and first responder.

Chris was a devoted husband to his wife Julianna, encouraging and supporting her as a nurse and in her role in the SANE nursing program. He loved to watch cooking shows and surprise her with a new dish.

He was a very generous brother to a large family. At family gatherings he was the life of the party or Santa Claus at Christmas.

Chris is survived by his parents John and Mireille Carroll, sisters Christina, Heidi, Marie Anne, Celeste, Michelle, Sue, Carmel, Katrina, Teresa and Aime; brothers Anthony, John, Andre, Timothy and James. He is also survived by his Aunt Nancy.

He was a decorated Army Sergeant, a veteran of multiple campaigns spanning 6 ½ years in the Middle East. Chris was a brother in arms to his fellow soldiers and he carried the heavy burden of their loss every day. He was proud of his service and proud to be an American. He was a patriot and a warrior.

Chris was awarded the Adjutant General Individual Award, 2 Texas Combat Service Ribbons and the Texas Federal Service Medal. Chris T Carroll enlisted into the Texas Army National Guard on 09 Mar 2006. He spent the majority of his military career as an infantryman graduating from One-station Unit Training at Fort Benning, GA in September of 2006. He later became a parachute rigger in 2007. He served on multiple combat deployments as an infantryman including a deployment to Iraq for OIF 07-08 with 3 BN 144th Infantry and two deployments to Afghanistan with Agricultural Development Teams #2 and #5 composed of elements from 3rd Sqn 124th Cavalry.

SGT Carroll’s many military awards include two Army Commendation Medals, one Army Achievement Medal, two Army Reserve Component Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Army Service ribbon, three Overseas Service Ribbons, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and two NATO Medals. His state awards include the Adjutant General’s Individual Award, three Texas Federal Service Ribbons, and three Texas Combat Service Ribbons. Other notable awards include the Parachutist Badge, the Rigger Badge, and arguably the most prominent award is his Combat Infantry Badge for enduring multiple hostile engagements with our enemies.

SGT Carroll honorably served nearly seven years in the Texas Army National Guard, volunteering for multiple combat deployments. Chris was a hero to all who knew him. His passing leaves a huge hole in our lives.

A visitation for Christopher will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home.
