Thomas Jerry Minor

Thomas Jerry Minor, age 67, entered into rest May 6, 2012 at Indian Path Medical Center. Jerry was born in Hawkins County and had lived in Blountville for thirty plus years. He was formerly employed as a Deputy with Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, Hawkins County Sheriff’s Department, and the City of Rogersville Police Department. Jerry was a member of Andrews Memorial Chapel Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Glen and Beulah Grace Mauk Minor. Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Sandra K. Minor of Blountville; son, Thomas Jeremy Minor of Blountville; daughter, Kim Oakes and husband Tim of Gate City, grandsons, Tyler and Peyton Oakes of Gate City; brother, Steve Minor of Surgoinsville; sister, Sharon Minor Richards of Church Hill. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at East Lawn Memorial Park.
