Norma truly had the heart of servant. She lived her life to help others. She worked as an LPN and was the wife of a dedicated preacher. Norma enjoyed crafts, drawing, painting, crocheting, knitting, Bunka art (Japanese threading), and gardening. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Grant Miller; and daughter, Christine Quillen.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Margaret “Marty” Sutherland & husband Larry; son-in-law, Gary Quillen; three grandchildren, Tim Quillen & wife Donna; Julia Oxendine & husband Winston, Jr., and Kelly Cassell; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel Oxendine & wife Lindsey, Lukas Oxendine, William Quillen, Alec Cassell, and Brady Cassell; one great great-grandson, Oliver Grant Oxendine; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday (October 24, 2019) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Winston Oxendine, Jr. and Bob Underwood officiating.
Norma will be laid to rest on Friday (October 25, 2019) at 11 a.m. in the Garden of the Apostles at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Cornerstone Village Church (2018 Sherwood Drive. Apt 236 Johnson City, TN 37601).
