Melissa “Missy” Mingle, age 37 of Kingsport, was taken up in the arms of Jesus and into glories of Heaven on Monday, October 7, 2019. Missy was born on July 24, 1982 in Kingsport, TN to Stephen and Deborah Mingle. The love that she has for her family will continue on throughout the rest of their lives.
Missy was born to dance. At the age of three, Missy began dancing and she never stopped. Missy graduated from Sullivan South High School and she was always proud to be one of the Southern Belles. She owned and operated Lasting Impressions Dance Company in Colonial Heights for many years. She dedicated herself to teach and share her experience with young dancers and to be a positive role model. Missy also worked as a nurse’s assistant for Ballad Health; as she was always wanting to help those in need. Missy loved music and going on vacations to the beach. She was known as the “family planner” for their monthly game nights and get-togethers. She valued her time with her son, family and friends. She found peace in the simple things in life. Missy was a loving mother and her world revolved around her son. Missy’s personality and beautiful smile brought out the sunshine, even on the darkest of days.
Missy was preceded in death by her grandfather, David R. Mingle. Missy is survived by her son, Landon; her parents, Stephen and Deborah Mingle; brothers, Matthew Mingle and his wife Miranda, and Michael Mingle and his wife Paige; grandparents, India Mingle, and Cyril and Betty Weinberger; niece, Emily; nephews, Stephen, Jon, Alexander, Christopher, and David; and several other family members and friends.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org
