Mattie Etta Dalton, 74, passed away peacefully during the morning hours of Tuesday (October 4, 2016) at her residence with her family by her side. Etta was born on October 16, 1941 in Sullivan County to the late Charles R. Beaman & Leona V. Dillon.
Etta was a hard working independent woman who enjoyed sewing, taking walks through her neighborhood while visiting with her neighbors, and spending time with her family and friends; she never met a stranger. She attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church for several years. Etta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Etta was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Gray.
Etta is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronald K. Dalton; son, Brian K. Dalton & fiancé Viodalia Osman; three grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, and Zachory Dalton; sister, Jean Akers; brother, Charles R. Beaman, Jr.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday (October 6, 2016) from noon to 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral services will held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Fletcher officiating.
Committal services will be held following the funeral services on Thursday (October 6, 2016) at 3:30 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Cemetery (1177 Harmony Rd. Jonesborough, TN 37659).
