Lau C. Joe

Lau was the "backbone: and "behind-the-scenes" of Joe Gong's Restaurant. She created a lot of dishes with authenticity and originality. She came to the States with limited experience of the American language and business knowledge, however that did not stop her from achieving a successful life and business with her husband of 53 years. She lived a long and prosperous life at the ripe age of 94.

The best achievement in life was her family. She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Lau is survived by five children (and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren): Mary Ann Gong (Step-daughter), Joe Gong, Jr. (Step-son), May Rice (Daughter), Sue Joe Allan (Daughter), Tong Joe (Son), Joe Gong, III (Grandson), Melinda Reese (Granddaughter), Melissa Rice (Granddaughter), Eric Rice (Grandson), Chandler Allan (Grandson), Emeri Sowards (Granddaughter), Pam Gong (Daughter-in-law), Matt Sowards (Grandson-in-law), Liam and Nolan (Great Grandsons), Emmett Rice (Great Grandson) and Delilah Sowards (Great Granddaughter).

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM in East Lawn Memorial Park.
