Joe Stewart, age 40, of Kingsport, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Joe currently was employed by the Bluff City Police Department as a Corporal Trainer and had formally been employed by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca V. Umbarger. Survivors include his wife, Susan Williams Stewart; son, Eryck Dockery; a daughter-in-law; one granddaughter, Erycka Jo Dockery; father-in-law, Johnie Williams; mother-in-law, Kathy; brother-in-law, Justin Williams; best friend, Jeff Cassidy; several nieces and nephews; his father, four brothers and one sister, along with his close friends at the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department and the Bluff City Police Department. The Funeral Service for Joe Stewart will be conducted on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. The eulogy will be read by Jeff Cassidy. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park, with services provided by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Honor Guard.
