Cora Mina Cox

Cora Mina Cox, 69 of Kingsport, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 24, 2016. Cora was born on November 26, 1946 in Morganton, NC to the late Arthur Vines and the late Mary Katherine Bean Vines. Cora was married to Mr. Billy Jack Cox, and he preceded her in death in 2001.

Cora loved life and she loved her family. Her warm, caring spirit illuminated those around her; and she could lift anyone’s spirit with her smile and loving nature. Cora loved being with her family and her church family at Beulah Baptist Church. She has definitely left a legacy of love and caring for her family to always cherish.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Jack; son, Jerome Luther Kern; grandson, Christopher; and brother, Eddie Gouge. Left to carry on her legacy are her sons, Michael Kern, and Jonathon Cox; daughter, Tammy Browning and husband Hillard; seven grandchildren, Josh, Benjamin, Hunter, Adian, Kathryn, Marganna, and Seth; great-granddaughter, Riley Brook; and her church family at Beulah Baptist Church of Kingsport.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health, with special thanks to nurses, Melanie and Ashley; and a special thank you to the nursing staff at Fresenius Medical Care.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel at East Lawn Funeral Home, Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Preacher Al South officiating. Interment services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Prayer.
