Betty O. Campbell

Mrs. Campbell was born on October 13, 1940 the daughter of the late Reeves & Fannie Halsey Osborne. She graduated from Virginia-Carolina High School in Grassy Creek, NC and the Johnston Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Abingdon, VA. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Campbell was employed with Holston Defense as a registered nurse. She was a member of the Cassidy United Methodist Church and belonged to the Seekers Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. Betty was a loving and caring person and was always willing to use her training as a nurse to help others in need. She worked tirelessly at the Indian Springs Mission Center where she served as Vice-President of the Board of Directors. She was married to Wayne R. Campbell who survives. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Mr. Wayne R. Campbell. Two sons, Dwayne (Heather) Campbell of San Antonio, Texas and Travis (Dianna Sanchez) Campbell of Dallas, Texas. Three grandchildren, Seth, Hannah and Jacob Campbell. One great-granddaughter, Alana Campbell. Two brothers, Fielden Osborne of Bristol, TN and Reeves B. Osborne, Jr. of Mouth of Wilson, VA. Sister-in-law, Sylvia (Warren) Miller of Warrensville, NC. Brothers-in-law, Gwyn (Wilma) Campbell and Buford (Peggy) Campbell all of Warrensville, NC. Three nephews and one niece also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Campbell will be conducted on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 1 p.m. from the Cassidy United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Griffin officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum II of East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Active pallbearers will include; Dwayne & Travis Campbell, Lowell Osborne, Brian Davis, Jeff Harr, John Reed. Honorary pallbearers include; Wayne Klepper, Tommy Poore, Buddy DeVault, and Joe Sizemore. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cassidy United Methodist Church 5801 Memorial Blvd. Kingsport, TN. 37664.
