Nathan Johnson was born on August 6, 1929 in Anderson, South Carolina to Theodore Johnson and Addie Mae Latimer. He was the youngest of four children; Greather Elizabeth Campbell, Cecelia Jackson, and Booker T. Johnson. At the age of 90, he passed away on December 23, 2019.
In 1954 Nathan Johnson, a soldier in the U.S. Army, married Pauline Major. Nathan and Pauline became the parents of two sons, Nathan Bernard Johnson and Jerry Fernandus Johnson.
During his 20 years of distinguished military commitment, SSG. Johnson served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, where he earned a Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Bronze Star Medal. He then retired and built a home for his family in Killeen, Texas. Here, he began a new career with the Department of Defense for 25 years and eventually retired. Outside of working, Nathan enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with the family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his wife Pauline. Mourning his departure are his two sons Nathan B. (Pam) and Jerry; seven grandchildren, Daymond (Michelle), Daylena (Louis), Nathaniel, Antoine, Nathan, Santiago, and Evan (Nazli); six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and dear friends.
