Mercedes Lewis was born on August 31, 1993 in Killeen Texas to Retired SFC James Earl Lewis and Ronina Cole. Mercedes was the seventh child of the family. She was seen by her parents as a complete angel and the apple of their eyes. Her family and friends loved to see her beautiful blue eyes and her award winning smile.

Mercedes was a Killeen Kangaroo, graduating with the class of 2011. She was attending Temple Junior College in pursue of a degree in Criminal Justice.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otis and Juanita Lewis and Freddie and Velma Cole and 1 Sister, Angela Lewis.

An angel came and called her by name, and took her by the hand, and said your place is ready in Heaven, you must leave behind for now your Father, James Earl Lewis and your Mother, Ronina Cole Pursche; 2 Brothers, James Lewis Jr. (Jessica), and Brian Pursche (Michelle); 4 Sisters; James Etta Lewis, Batasha Lewis, Tiffany Pursche (Marcus) and Rebecca Reid (Ernest); 9 nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

The Lewis family would like to share memories of Mercedes during a Memorial service on Monday, April 9, 2012 in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen beginning at 11:00 AM with Bishop Lee Williams officiating.
