Margaret Rose Miller left this world and went into eternity on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 10:52am.
Margaret was born in Bolton-Lancashire, England on July 26,1937, to Arnold and Honora Foster. She lived in England until she met American soldier Eugene Richard Miller when she was 17. She married him in March 1954 at St. Augustine’s Church and were sealed for eternity in the LDS Dallas Temple in 1987.
Margaret first came to Killeen in 1963 when her husband was stationed at Ft. Hood Army base. She soon got a job at the Ft. Hood Officers club where she assumed the role as the hostess in the main dining room. She maintained her job in hospitality at the club for over 30 years. In 1995, she decided to retire from her much-loved job to concentrate on her two passions in life. Her family and traveling. After retirement, she was able to travel all over the world with her husband and friends. She and her husband reveled in the most magical places on earth from the pyramids of Egypt to the city of Santorini Greece, to the Italian ruins of Rome and Florence, all throughout Europe and so much more. There wasn’t a place that she didn’t want to explore, because wonder and excitement was who she was, and adventure was in her blood. She was able to spend the best days of her life with her love until his passing on November 14, 2009. After her husband’s passing, Margaret became devoted to spending time with her family and being involved in many organizations to keep her busy. She was actively involved in CASA of Bell County, Killeen Garden Club, Red Hats Women’s group, Killeen Police Alumni, Tigger’s Ladies group, and an active participant in the Killeen Senior Center where she traveled with their groups regularly. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Killeen and cherished the visiting home teachers that took such good watch over her after the passing of Gene.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Honora and Arnold Foster, her bother Arnold Foster Jr., sister Theresa and her beloved husband Eugene Richard Miller.
She leaves behind her oldest son Eugene Miller Jr. of Killeen, daughters Sharon Miller and Elizabeth Moulds of Copperas Cove, son Mark Miller of Killeen, daughter Kristina Miller-Straley and son in law Van Straley of Copperas Cove, Granddaughter Jessica Miller- McLeroy and husband Tommy McLeroy, as well as Great Grand Daughter Jaime McLeroy of Cedar Park, and Grandsons Steele and Gage Straley of Copperas Cove.
