Services for Kenneth E. Martin, 79, of Nolanville will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with burial at Central Texas State VMr. Martin died March 4, 2010, in a Temple hospital. He was born July 2, 1930, in Olney, Ill., where he was raised and educated.
Mr. Martin retired after 20 years of service in the United States Army and also retired from Civil Service. During his military, career he was awarded the Purple Heart, three Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Service Medal, Air Medal and Silver Service Star.
He was a member of Belton Masonic Lodge and recently received his 50-year pin.
He was preceded in death by a son, George Edward Martin, in August 1955.
Survivors include his wife, Connie L. Martin of Nolanville; a son, Kenneth W. "Butch" Martin of Nolanville; a daughter, Kim Martin Gilmer of Temple; a sister, Pansy Devylder of Danville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Megan, Rachel, Lauren, Taylor and Hunter; and one great-grandchild, Riley Martin.
